How to Install ffmpeg software package in Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (Precise Pangolin)

ffmpeg software package provides Multimedia player, server, encoder and transcoder (transitional package), you can install in your Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (Precise Pangolin) by running the commands given below on the terminal,

$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install ffmpeg 

ffmpeg is installed in your system.

Make ensure the ffmpeg package were installed using the commands given below,

$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep ffmpeg *

You will get with ffmpeg package name, version, architecture and description in a table
