How to uninstall or remove fam software package from Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (Precise Pangolin)

You can uninstall or removes an installed fam package itself from Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (Precise Pangolin) through the terminal,

$ sudo apt-get remove fam 

Uninstall fam including dependent package

If you would like to remove fam and it's dependent packages which are no longer needed from Ubuntu,

$ sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove fam 
Use Purging fam

If you use with purge options to fam package all the configuration and dependent packages will be removed.

$ sudo apt-get purge fam 

If you use purge options along with auto remove, will be removed everything regarding the package, It's really useful when you want to reinstall again.

$ sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove fam
