emacs-goodies-el software package provides Miscellaneous add-ons for Emacs, you can install in your Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (Precise Pangolin) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install emacs-goodies-el
emacs-goodies-el is installed in your system.
Make ensure the emacs-goodies-el package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep emacs-goodies-el *
You will get with emacs-goodies-el package name, version, architecture and description in a table
