elvis-tools software package provides text editing tools for programmers (elvfmt, elvtags, ref), you can install in your Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (Precise Pangolin) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install elvis-tools
elvis-tools is installed in your system.
Make ensure the elvis-tools package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep elvis-tools *
You will get with elvis-tools package name, version, architecture and description in a table
