ekg2 software package provides instant messenger and IRC client for UNIX systems, you can install in your Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (Precise Pangolin) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install ekg2
ekg2 is installed in your system.
Make ensure the ekg2 package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep ekg2 *
You will get with ekg2 package name, version, architecture and description in a table
