clamav-daemon software package provides anti-virus utility for Unix - scanner daemon, you can install in your Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (Precise Pangolin) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install clamav-daemon
clamav-daemon is installed in your system.
Make ensure the clamav-daemon package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep clamav-daemon *
You will get with clamav-daemon package name, version, architecture and description in a table
