browser-plugin-vlc software package provides multimedia plugin for web browsers based on VLC, you can install in your Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (Precise Pangolin) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install browser-plugin-vlc
browser-plugin-vlc is installed in your system.
Make ensure the browser-plugin-vlc package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep browser-plugin-vlc *
You will get with browser-plugin-vlc package name, version, architecture and description in a table
