brltty software package provides Access software for a blind person using a braille display, you can install in your Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (Precise Pangolin) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install brltty
brltty is installed in your system.
Make ensure the brltty package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep brltty *
You will get with brltty package name, version, architecture and description in a table
