ardour software package provides digital audio workstation (graphical gtk2 interface), you can install in your Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (Precise Pangolin) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install ardour
ardour is installed in your system.
Make ensure the ardour package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep ardour *
You will get with ardour package name, version, architecture and description in a table
