How to uninstall or remove java8-runtime-headless software package from Debian 9 (Stretch)

You can uninstall or removes an installed java8-runtime-headless package itself from Debian 9 (Stretch) through the terminal,

$ sudo apt-get remove java8-runtime-headless

Uninstall java8-runtime-headless including dependent package

If you would like to remove java8-runtime-headless and it's dependent packages which are no longer needed from Ubuntu,

$ sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove java8-runtime-headless

Use Purging java8-runtime-headless

If you use with purge options to java8-runtime-headless package all the configuration and dependent packages will be removed.

$ sudo apt-get purge java8-runtime-headless

If you use purge options along with auto remove, will be removed everything regarding the package, It's really useful when you want to reinstall again.

$ sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove java8-runtime-headless
