git-completion software package provides virtual package provided by git, you can install in your Debian 9 (Stretch) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install git-completion
git-completion is installed in your system.
Make ensure the git-completion package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep git-completion*
You will get with git-completion package name, version, architecture and description in a table
