ffmpegthumbnailer software package provides fast and lightweight video thumbnailer, you can install in your Debian 9 (Stretch) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install ffmpegthumbnailer
ffmpegthumbnailer is installed in your system.
