libhidapi-dev software package provides Multi-Platform library for communication with HID devices (development files), you can install in your Debian 8 (Jessie) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libhidapi-dev
libhidapi-dev is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libhidapi-dev package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libhidapi-dev *
You will get with libhidapi-dev package name, version, architecture and description in a table
