libhd-dev software package provides Hardware identification system library and headers, you can install in your Debian 8 (Jessie) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libhd-dev
libhd-dev is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libhd-dev package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libhd-dev *
You will get with libhd-dev package name, version, architecture and description in a table
