How to uninstall or remove libgdcm2-dev software package from Debian 8 (Jessie)

You can uninstall or removes an installed libgdcm2-dev package itself from Debian 8 (Jessie) through the terminal,

$ sudo apt-get remove libgdcm2-dev 

Uninstall libgdcm2-dev including dependent package

If you would like to remove libgdcm2-dev and it's dependent packages which are no longer needed from Ubuntu,

$ sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove libgdcm2-dev 
Use Purging libgdcm2-dev

If you use with purge options to libgdcm2-dev package all the configuration and dependent packages will be removed.

$ sudo apt-get purge libgdcm2-dev 

If you use purge options along with auto remove, will be removed everything regarding the package, It's really useful when you want to reinstall again.

$ sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove libgdcm2-dev
