libdmtx-dev software package provides Data Matrix barcodes (development files and static libraries), you can install in your Debian 8 (Jessie) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libdmtx-dev
libdmtx-dev is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libdmtx-dev package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libdmtx-dev *
You will get with libdmtx-dev package name, version, architecture and description in a table
