libchise-dev software package provides C language binding of CHISE, the character information database, you can install in your Debian 8 (Jessie) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libchise-dev
libchise-dev is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libchise-dev package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libchise-dev *
You will get with libchise-dev package name, version, architecture and description in a table
