libcheese-gtk-dev software package provides tool to take pictures and videos from your webcam - widgets dev, you can install in your Debian 8 (Jessie) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libcheese-gtk-dev
libcheese-gtk-dev is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libcheese-gtk-dev package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libcheese-gtk-dev *
You will get with libcheese-gtk-dev package name, version, architecture and description in a table
