kstars-data software package provides data files for KStars desktop planetarium, you can install in your Debian 8 (Jessie) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install kstars-data
kstars-data is installed in your system.
Make ensure the kstars-data package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep kstars-data *
You will get with kstars-data package name, version, architecture and description in a table
