inetutils-tools software package provides base networking utilities (experimental package), you can install in your Debian 8 (Jessie) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install inetutils-tools
inetutils-tools is installed in your system.
Make ensure the inetutils-tools package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep inetutils-tools *
You will get with inetutils-tools package name, version, architecture and description in a table
