indicator-renderer software package provides virtual package provided by xfce4-indicator-plugin, mate-indicator-applet, you can install in your Debian 8 (Jessie) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install indicator-renderer
indicator-renderer is installed in your system.
Make ensure the indicator-renderer package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep indicator-renderer*
You will get with indicator-renderer package name, version, architecture and description in a table
