guile software package provides virtual package provided by guile-1.8, guile-2.0, you can install in your Debian 8 (Jessie) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install guile
guile is installed in your system.
Make ensure the guile package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep guile*
You will get with guile package name, version, architecture and description in a table
