google-translate-cli software package provides virtual package provided by translate-shell, you can install in your Debian 8 (Jessie) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install google-translate-cli
google-translate-cli is installed in your system.
Make ensure the google-translate-cli package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep google-translate-cli*
You will get with google-translate-cli package name, version, architecture and description in a table
