gkrellm-xkb software package provides Keyboard layout indicator plugin for GKrellM, you can install in your Debian 8 (Jessie) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install gkrellm-xkb
gkrellm-xkb is installed in your system.
Make ensure the gkrellm-xkb package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep gkrellm-xkb *
You will get with gkrellm-xkb package name, version, architecture and description in a table
