geoip-database software package provides IP lookup command line tools that use the GeoIP library (country database), you can install in your Debian 8 (Jessie) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install geoip-database
geoip-database is installed in your system.
Make ensure the geoip-database package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep geoip-database *
You will get with geoip-database package name, version, architecture and description in a table
