firebird2.5-dev software package provides virtual package provided by firebird-dev, you can install in your Debian 8 (Jessie) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install firebird2.5-dev
firebird2.5-dev is installed in your system.
Make ensure the firebird2.5-dev package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep firebird2.5-dev*
You will get with firebird2.5-dev package name, version, architecture and description in a table
