dctrl2xml software package provides Debian control data to XML converter, you can install in your Debian 8 (Jessie) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install dctrl2xml
dctrl2xml is installed in your system.
Make ensure the dctrl2xml package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep dctrl2xml *
You will get with dctrl2xml package name, version, architecture and description in a table
