ceph-mds software package provides metadata server for the ceph distributed file system, you can install in your Debian 8 (Jessie) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install ceph-mds
ceph-mds is installed in your system.
Make ensure the ceph-mds package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep ceph-mds *
You will get with ceph-mds package name, version, architecture and description in a table
