atril-common software package provides MATE document viewer (common files), you can install in your Debian 8 (Jessie) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install atril-common
atril-common is installed in your system.
Make ensure the atril-common package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep atril-common *
You will get with atril-common package name, version, architecture and description in a table
