armada-backlight software package provides adjust backlight of Compaq Armada laptops (E300, M500, M700), you can install in your Debian 8 (Jessie) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install armada-backlight
armada-backlight is installed in your system.
Make ensure the armada-backlight package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep armada-backlight *
You will get with armada-backlight package name, version, architecture and description in a table
