libexpat1-dev software package provides XML parsing C library - development kit, you can install in your Debian 7 (Wheezy) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libexpat1-dev
libexpat1-dev is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libexpat1-dev package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libexpat1-dev *
You will get with libexpat1-dev package name, version, architecture and description in a table
