libconfig8-dev software package provides Transitional package for libconfig-dev, you can install in your Debian 7 (Wheezy) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libconfig8-dev
libconfig8-dev is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libconfig8-dev package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libconfig8-dev *
You will get with libconfig8-dev package name, version, architecture and description in a table
