libcfitsio3 software package provides shared library for I/O with FITS format data files, you can install in your Debian 7 (Wheezy) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libcfitsio3
libcfitsio3 is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libcfitsio3 package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libcfitsio3 *
You will get with libcfitsio3 package name, version, architecture and description in a table
