libcanberra-dev software package provides simple abstract interface for playing event sounds, you can install in your Debian 7 (Wheezy) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libcanberra-dev
libcanberra-dev is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libcanberra-dev package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libcanberra-dev *
You will get with libcanberra-dev package name, version, architecture and description in a table
