gdb-avr software package provides The GNU Debugger for avr, you can install in your Debian 7 (Wheezy) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install gdb-avr
gdb-avr is installed in your system.
Make ensure the gdb-avr package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep gdb-avr *
You will get with gdb-avr package name, version, architecture and description in a table
