gdal-bin software package provides Geospatial Data Abstraction Library - Utility programs, you can install in your Debian 7 (Wheezy) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install gdal-bin
gdal-bin is installed in your system.
Make ensure the gdal-bin package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep gdal-bin *
You will get with gdal-bin package name, version, architecture and description in a table
