embassy-phylip software package provides EMBOSS conversions of the programs in the phylip package, you can install in your Debian 7 (Wheezy) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install embassy-phylip
embassy-phylip is installed in your system.
Make ensure the embassy-phylip package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep embassy-phylip *
You will get with embassy-phylip package name, version, architecture and description in a table
