elvis-console software package provides powerful clone of the vi/ex text editor (without X11 support), you can install in your Debian 7 (Wheezy) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install elvis-console
elvis-console is installed in your system.
Make ensure the elvis-console package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep elvis-console *
You will get with elvis-console package name, version, architecture and description in a table
