$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install contacts 

contacts is installed in your system.

Make ensure the contacts package were installed using the commands given below,

$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep contacts *

You will get with contacts package name, version, architecture and description in a table

contacts package basic information:
