cfitsio3 software package provides virtual package provided by libcfitsio3, you can install in your Debian 7 (Wheezy) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install cfitsio3
cfitsio3 is installed in your system.
Make ensure the cfitsio3 package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep cfitsio3*
You will get with cfitsio3 package name, version, architecture and description in a table
