bitlbee-libpurple software package provides An IRC to other chat networks gateway (using libpurple), you can install in your Debian 7 (Wheezy) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install bitlbee-libpurple
bitlbee-libpurple is installed in your system.
Make ensure the bitlbee-libpurple package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep bitlbee-libpurple *
You will get with bitlbee-libpurple package name, version, architecture and description in a table
