asterisk-1.8 software package provides virtual package provided by asterisk, you can install in your Debian 7 (Wheezy) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install asterisk-1.8
asterisk-1.8 is installed in your system.
Make ensure the asterisk-1.8 package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep asterisk-1.8*
You will get with asterisk-1.8 package name, version, architecture and description in a table
