arping software package provides sends IP and/or ARP pings (to the MAC address), you can install in your Debian 7 (Wheezy) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install arping
arping is installed in your system.
Make ensure the arping package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep arping *
You will get with arping package name, version, architecture and description in a table
