apt-watch software package provides Applet that monitors apt sources for upgrades (transitional package), you can install in your Debian 7 (Wheezy) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install apt-watch
apt-watch is installed in your system.
Make ensure the apt-watch package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep apt-watch *
You will get with apt-watch package name, version, architecture and description in a table
